This powerful short follows Anuja\, a gifted nine-year-old girl and her 17-year-old sister\, Palak\, as they work in a back-alley garment factory. When a teacher offers Anuja a chance to attend an elite boarding school\, the sisters must navigate challenges that test their resilience and bond\, culminating in a decision faced by countless young girls worldwide. ANUJA has won numerous awards\, including BEST LIVE ACTION SHORT at the 2024 HollyShorts Film Festival\, and has been nominated for the 2025 Oscars®. Mindy Kaling serves the team as a Producer and Priyanka Chopra as Executive Producer. \nBACKGROUND: ANUJA was researched and filmed in partnership with the Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT)\, a nonprofit founded by the family of acclaimed director Mira Nair (Monsoon Wedding\, Salaam Bombay!). Suchitra received an MFA (studio art) and an MA in South Asian Studies (Art) from the University of Pennsylvania. She has had solos at the National Museum of Women in the Arts (DC)\, the ICA San Francisco\, the Seattle Museum of Art\, the Tampa Museum of Art\, and Socrates Sculpture Park\, NYC. So they recruit their neighbors to set up a bank in their High Street to print their own currency which they then sell as art works. Long unavailable for viewing due to legal tangles\, The Facts of Life has gained legendary status as one of the few Bob Hope films of the 1960s to concentrate on character development rather than silly one-liners. Recent viewings have revealed that\, though a far more mature work than one might expect from Hope or Ball\, Facts of Life still relies to a great extent on the sort of TV sitcom material that the fans of the two stars had come to expect by 1960. So when the decision was made in 1995 to reintroduce the wolf to the vast Yellowstone National Park\, it was not without opposition. \nLeading the project was charismatic biologist Mollie Beattie\, who\, along with her colorful and sympathetic team of colleagues\, was charged with bringing wolves back at a time when they had been extinct for 50 years. But not everyone was thrilled with the idea that wolves would soon be allowed to roam free again.
