SUMMARY:We Are Guardians
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nJune 18-22 \nIn the heart of the Amazon Rainforest\, the Indigenous forest guardians stand at the frontlines of the fight to protect their ancestral lands from relentless invasions and deforestation. As more and more people illegally invade their lands each year\, devastating centuries-old forests for resources and fast profits\, these small groups of guardians risk everything to protect their forest and way of life. Now\, as the health of the entire Amazon teeters at the edge\, will Brazil and the world take notice? We Are Guardians offers an intimate portrayal of the lives ensnared within this crisis\, bringing a multitude of voices from this complex landscape to the forefront. Indigenous forest guardian Marçal Guajajara and Indigenous leader Puyr Tembé stand at the frontlines of this fight\, risking everything to protect their ancestral lands and way of life from relentless invasions and deforestation. To them\, the Amazon is not just home—it is life itself\, worth every sacrifice to ensure its survival for future generations. (Chelsea Greene\, Rob Grobman\, & Edivan Guajajara\, 2024\, Brazil\, 1:25\, NR)

SUMMARY:Bank Job
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nJune 25-29 \nArtist/filmmaker team Dan Edelstyn and Hilary Powell live in an area plagued by debt – mortgage debt\, credit card debt\, public debt – which impoverishes families\, communities and public services. So they recruit their neighbors to set up a bank in their High Street to print their own currency which they then sell as art works. The plan is to raise money to support the local school and community projects and\, more daringly\, to buy up over $1 million of the debts of local people. These debts are being sold on the market for a small fraction of their face value. \nBANK JOB follows Dan and Hilary as they succeed in their aim\, eventually (and spectacularly) blowing up the debt in the shadow of London’s financial district. Along the way\, they meet with economists\, politicians and anti-debt campaigners in America (including the late anthropologist David Graeber) to discover how debt is created in our economy and ask important questions about how the system of money creation might be altered in society’s favor…not just to the banking system’s benefit. \nWith wit\, insight\, and gunpowder\, BANK JOB argues that these debts are a result of a monetary system which is impoverishing multitudes by design\, and which could be changed. SUMMARY:Most People Die on Sundays
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS \nJune 25-29 \nDavid is in his 30s\, overweight\, gay and with a crippling fear of flying. He regretfully returns to his native Argentina to attend his uncle’s funeral.
