SUMMARY:Glowing Goose Productions presents Fiddler on the Roof | Jan. 15-25
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nFiddler on the Roof has captured the imagination of cultures around the world for decades with its universal theme of tradition confronting modernity. It has been a shared dream for Sarah Nowak (director) and Rabbi Marc Soloway (Tevye) to produce this show\, and this feels like the right moment. \nAs we see a dramatic rise in antisemitism and a world filled with dehumanization\, bigotry and violence\, Anatevka is both a specific\, particular time and space in Jewish history and also any place where people have been persecuted and driven out of their lands. The particular and the universal are captured in this story\, which we hope to tell in a way that connects us to the past\, present and future. \nThis musical is presented by Glowing Goose Productions in partnership with Congregation Bonai Shalom\, Congregation Nevei Kodesh\, and the Boulder JCC.

They will present musical responses to Motus’ Youth Behind & Beyond Bars autobiographical performance\, which shares the experiences of adults who survived the juvenile justice system. Boulder County DA Michael Dougherty will sit with the storytellers to co-read their narratives and reflect publicly on their impact. You will leave inspired and ready to carry out the legacy of Dr. King Jr.’s work in support of juvenile justice reform that centers youth and community solutions. \n  \nThe ReMINDers are a rare and remarkable musical duo with undeniable magical chemistry\, The ReMINDers transcend the bounds of expectation to uplift and entertain. They seamlessly blend razor-sharp rhythms and raw\, soulful vocals with reggae-tinged hip-hop beats to highlight their relevant and inspiring messages. The couple shares a partnership in both music and life as Samir and Aja have been married for over a decade. The ReMINDers have been recognized and applauded for their work internationally through concerts\, tours\, music awards\, and TV and radio appearances. They have shared the stage with artists such as Nas\, Big Boi\, and Ms. Lauryn Hill. \nMotus Theater’s Youth Behind & Beyond Bars: Stories from the Frontlines of the Juvenile Legal System brings powerful\, artistically-crafted personal stories from adults who survived incarceration as youth. This moving autobiographical performance lifts the curtain on the realities of the juvenile legal system while inspiring action toward true justice. The script for this performance was written by Motus Artistic Executive Director Kirsten Wilson based on writings\, conversations\, and reflections of Lorenzo Allen\, Durrel Bumphus\, Lawrence Hershel Goshon\, Raymond Johnson\, Juaquin Mobley\, Michael Rollerson\, and Big Shakur (James Williams). \nMotus Theater facilitates dialogue on critical issues of our time by creating original theater. Motus’ work leverages the power of art to build alliances across diverse segments of our community and country. We specialize in developing artfully crafted personal narratives with leaders on the frontlines of violence in the U.S.\, putting them center stage as the protagonists in the American drama.

SUMMARY:The Catamounts present Burning Bluebeard by Jay Torrence | JAN. 31 - FEB. 21
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nBlending comedy\, vaudeville\, clowning\, and meta-theatrical play\, BURNING BLUEBEARD reimagines the 1903 Chicago Iroquois Theatre fire from the perspective of the performers. The piece is both a reckoning and a love letter—an exploration of why we gather\, what we risk in live performance\, and how theater holds us together in moments of joy and catastrophe. \nOf the original Chicago production\, Newcity Stage wrote: \nBURNING BLUEBEARD represents the cumulative potential of theater as an art form: a poetic\, terrifying\, gut-buster tour de force that tells the audience exactly what this show is going to be—a deconstructed retelling of the 1903 Iroquois Theatre Fire from the eyes of the artists who worked on “Mr. Bluebeard\,” the production that sent the theater up in flames—even while building the sense that this time fate may be averted\, we might see the second act\, and the victims of that fire could be saved. \nDirected by Artistic Director Amanda Berg Wilson\, The Catamounts bring their signature immersive approach to the work\, transforming the Carsen Theater into a shared environment where audience and performers exist together inside the story. The result is a theatrical experience that is playful\, unsettling\, and deeply communal—inviting us to imagine what it means to care for one another in the dark. \nSunday performances on February 1\, 14\, and 21 will be followed by a community gathering. Tickets include food and drink\, with options available for those with and without dietary restrictions. \nTo donate to The Catamounts please visit https://www.coloradogives.org/organization/TheCatamounts
