Refreshments will be available for purchase. \nExhibit On View: 11 July – 31 August\, 2025\nArtists: ATLAS Institute’s Emergent Nanomaterials Lab (Joshua Coffie\, Meenakshi Skandarajan\, Caitlin Rogers\, and Alexandra Felderman)\, Ana González Baragan\, Andrea Garcia Vasquez\, Anna Tsouhlarakis\, Belgin Yucelen\, Carson Besser\, Heather Schulte\, Netta Ofer\, Steven Frost\nMatter Over Mind is an exhibition that explores multidisciplinary innovation\, boundary-pushing research\, and the brilliant\, experimental space where art and science collide. Learn how creative practices are redefining our relationship with the physical world — using matter as a tool to rethink\, reimagine\, and reshape how we live\, learn\, and create. \nThe exhibition brings together a vibrant community of radical thinkers and hands-on makers — artists who are also researchers\, inventors\, teachers\, and students. Many of the exhibiting artists are affiliated with the University of Colorado Boulder and its ATLAS Institute\, an interdisciplinary hub for creativity and invention\, where bold ideas come to life through hands-on experimentation\, collaboration\, and critical inquiry. \nFrom the ATLAS Institute’s Emergent Nanomaterials Lab — where Joshua Coffie\, Meenaksi Skandarajan\, Caitlin Rogers\, and Alexandra Felderman develop smart tattoo inks for the human body — to Netta Ofer’s slime mold experiments exploring nonhuman intelligence\, to Ana González Barragán’s transformation of discarded Colorado quarry stone into poetic interventions\, each artist pushes material to its edge and invites us to think differently. \nRather than “mind over matter“\, this exhibition proposes the reverse: Matter Over Mind — a celebration of those who think unconventionally\, experiment boldly\, and let the material world lead the way toward new possibilities. \n

DESCRIPTION:TICKETS\nJoin us for an exciting Artist Talk in the Dairy Arts Center’s McMahon Gallery\, featuring a panel discussion with some of the incredible artists behind the current Mind Over Matter exhibition. The panel will be guided by Dairy Arts Center’s Visual Arts Curator\, Stella Witcher\, as they lead a discussion with artists including Heather Schulte\, Netta Ofer\, Belgin Yucelen\, and Andrea Garcia Vazquez. \nThe Matter Over Mind exhibition is an exploration into multidisciplinary innovation\, boundary-pushing research\, and the brilliant\, experimental space where art and science collide. Frost and Schulte will show participants how to weave on a four-harness loom\, with all materials provided. Weaving hours will be from 2–5 PM in the main gallery. Folks can drop in any time during the open hours—no registration necessary.
